Nowadays the investment in knowledge becomes the best way for success in various domains of life. The changes in business environment by the end of XX century made the scientists and managers seek the new challenges for enterprises and firms aiming at the best position in the market featuring a growth of competitiveness in the new century. The recent and present changes in dynamics of managing the enterprises covered the logistics as well. Recently the logistics as theory and practice of enterprises activity has undergone various transformations. Trends of changes in the logistic activity were mainly determined by technical innovations entering our daily life. They are directly connected with the innovations tending to a more effective functioning of firm in all its areas including the logistic activity. Logistic strategy may become a basic strategy to firms striving for competitive advantage or at least its basic component. When analyzing this topic it is worth mentioning the prevalence of low cost strategies at the beginning of the second half of 20th century. The then firms based on the low costs of employment and searched cheap sources for logistic supply. In such simply defined general strategy of firm each task of logistics was clearly determined. First of all it was necessary to reduce the cost of transportation and storing. The analysis of these problems contributed to defining the optimization rule for all-in transportation and storing costs as well as to defining the term of physical distribution of goods. It results not only from various understanding and applying the logistics in enterprises but also from the variety of numerous combinations utilizing the logistic potential together with the distinct trends of management aiming at a competitive advantage. The aim of article is to point at the dynamics of the recent and present changes in an enterprise as well as determining a significance of modern management strategies as a factor integrating logistic processes in an enterprise.
