Abstrakty
In the end of the 80. of the last century Europe saw a dramatic change in providing public media. Some commercial media came to the scene changing the situation from the very base in the national broadcasting systems and introduced some market specific aspects. This way a dual system of broadcasting was created, where along each other there function public media codified by law, and privately owned media operating by license. Public media lost dominant position in the market, where the rules are created by commercial stations. It is true that it took some time until public media adopted themselves to the situation, but it is in ane case an issue requiring not only discussion, but also analysis in further horizon. The offering of the commercial media is more aggressively attacking the feelings and senses of the spectators, while the public media trying to adapt to the situation seem to loose their basic principles and functions mentioned in the beginning of this article. Only further evolution will show, to what extent will public and private media compete, how will they stand in comparison to competitors, and what kind of "revolution" will bring the evolution of internet.
