SHG Bank Linkage Program (SBLP) wdrożony został przez National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). Microfinance in India started evolving in the 1984 with the formation of Self Help Group (SHGs) for providing access to financial services to the people (mainly women) who are deprived of credit facilities. Indian model differs from Bangladesh Grameen Bank method, developed by Muhammad Yunus. The SHG Bank Linkage Program (SBLP) is carried out under the guidance of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) with significant participation of Banks and Non Banking Finance Companies. National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) is the new program, run by Government of India in order to build, support and sustain livelihood of the poor through SHGs. (original abstract)
