Nuptiality is the process exerting immediate impact on population reproduction. The process is influenced by both - demographic structure of a population and some legal and economic decisions. Due- to its complexity, nuptiality process has evoked problems in the field of modelling and it has not been described by the means of demographic or demo-economic models. The existing models reflect only some fragments of it, or some defined points of view. The objectives of the present paper are: -presentation of the existing models (groups of models); -author's propositions of modelling the nuptiality process. Our attention will be focused, above all, on models which have been or can be verified empirically. In particular, we will not discuss the extensive group of models based on Markov chains. These problems are broadly presented e.g. by Feichtinger (fragment of text)
