Model LIPRO (Lifestyle Projection) należy do klasy wielostanowych (wielowymiarowych) modeli reprodukcji ludności. Prace badacze podjęte w Interdyscyplinarnym Holenderskim Instytucie Demograficznym (Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute - NIDI) w-raz z MiędzynarodoviYJll Instytutem Stosowanej Analizy Systemów (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis - IIASA)' zgodnie z projektem "zabezpieczenie społeczne, rodzina i gospodarstwo domowe w starzejących się społeczeństwach" (Social Security, Familly and Households in Aging Societies) doprowadziły do znacznego udoskonalenia pierwszej wersji modelu LI PRO. Zawiera on zarówno wersję liniową, Jak i wykładniczą zależności między rozpatrywanymi strukturami ludności. Demographic projections of population size and composition prepared in Poland usually covered population disaggregated by age, sex and place of residence (urban-rural cross-section, or - less frequently - cross-section by voivodeships). In the present work there have been discussed projec-tions made for the Poland*s population considered according to place of residence (urban-rural areas) and marital status. The multidimensional projection model, called LIPRO model, served as a projection tool. It was elaborated in the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI) in years 1989-1990. The model, together with the computer program, were rendered accessible to the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Central School of PI sinning and Statistics by their authors N.W. Keilman and E. van Imhoff. Works on preparation of projections by use of the LIPRO model were undertaken in the Institute of Statistics and Demography under the international research project "Social Security, Family and Households in Aging Societies", realized by the NIDI together with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). Accordingly with the assumption applied in this project, projections were made till year 2050 with the adoption of the following scenarios: benchmark scenario - continuation of the course of demographic processes observed in 1980-1985, mortality scenario - improvement of mortality in a way, which would enable a decrease in differentiation of mortality by sex, country scenario - changes in demographic rates corresponding to regularities observed In Poland. The mortality scenario assumed the drop in death rates - for females - by 30%, for males - by 45%, equal for the urban and rural subpopulations, gradually till 2005. Assumptions of the country scenario were formulated on the base of an analysis of changes in proper rates and their spatial differentiation in the period 1950-1988 (Cp.Annex 1) and the hypotheses of their possible changes in the future.
