Oprócz zastosowania spożywczego otręby pszenne mogą stanowić tani i łatwy do wykorzystania surowiec, będący źródłem wielu substancji o wysokiej aktywności biologicznej. Na świecie pojawiają się coraz częściej zakłady rafinacji biomasy i charakterystyka otrębów pszennych czyni je niezwykle użytecznym surowcem do biorafinacji.(abstrakt oryginalny)
EN
Wheat bran is side product from the milling industry which usually is used as food. Supplementation of human diet with wheat bran may enhance prevention of wide range of cancer due to presence of various functional ingredients as dietary fiber, phytic acid, lingams, oligosaccharides, antioxidants, and phytoestrogens. Except food usage wheat bran can be applied as a cheap and easy to exploit raw material with high content of different substances with biological activity. There is a trend on the world to construct biomass rafination plants and what bran characteristic makes the very useful raw material for biorefining. (original abstract)
