The influence of the technological revolution on the innovative character of transport services and significant structural changes in Polish transport is clear. Although still rather shallow, the computerisation of the transport system is becoming a catalyst of deep qualitative changes, for example in relation to the skills and mentality of employees in this sector of economy. We can observe a link between the speed of qualitative changes in the functioning of transport, logistics and shipping and the rate of economic growth. In recent years, slower economic growth in Poland has led to stronger competition on the shipping, transport and logistics services (STL) market and, paradoxically, has accelerated the market expansion of strong service companies, managed in modern ways and making extensive use of IT technologies.
