Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie zależności między regularnym uprawianiem sportu przez dzieci i młodzież a kształceniem ich charakteru i postaw prospołecznych, a także spojrzenia na sport jako alternatywa dla innych form spędzania wolnego czasu, możliwość wyboru przez młodego człowieka zagrożonego ewentualnym wykluczeniem społecznym. Inspiracją do napisania artykułu jest doświadczenie zawodowe autorki, która przez 8 lat zarządzała zapaśniczym klubem sportowym AKS AS w Kędzierzynie- Koźlu, organizującym zajęcia sportowe dla dzieci i młodzieży do 21. roku życia.(fragment tekstu)

Shaping of human character and community-oriented attitude should be an aware process in the particular stages of preparation to exercise sport. Training and participation in sport competitions shape the independence, courage and other positive traits but they may also generate conceit, egoism, jealousy etc. It gives to the trainers the possibility of quick reacting and preventing the undesirable situations. Sport of children and the youth should be considered not only in respect of sport results but also as a part of current life of the young people. The managers and activists of sport organizations should be aware of the effect of sport on development of a young man. It is necessary for the implementation of the aim, i.e. not only to accustom to systematic going in for sport via regular training but also to make a young man aware that there exists a certain way of living which is especially valuable for him. As affected by the awareness, he may try himself to implement the discussed way of living. Everybody may decide on his or her choice of the meaningful values, to which he would dedicate his life, or withdraw from their implementation. The choice of the appropriate way of living gives the opportunity of finding the target of the whole life and making the appropriate choices which, in turn, may reveal the most important issue - hierarchy of the approved values.(original abstract)
