Artykuł, analizując pojedynczy przypadek sieci interdyscyplinarnej na podstawie materiału empirycznego pochodzącego z wywiadów jakościowych wśród członków długoterminowej interdyscyplinarnej sieci naukowo-badawczej, zgłębia rolę i determinanty zaufania w procesie formowania sieci naukowo-badawczej.

The paper analyzing the case of interdisciplinary research and development network basing on empirical work in the form of interviews among the members of the long-term interdisciplinary network enhances the understanding of the role and determinants of trust in the process of research and development formation. The findings indicate that the process model of research and development activities is more adequate compared to the linear model in the explanation of reality of a network consisting of nodes of heterogeneous competencies and high uncertainty coupled to the scope of research and development activities, namely creation of new knowledge. What is more, research reveals that the main origins of trust in the stage of network formation is economic calculation and interpersonal trust derived from prior ties. (original abstract)
