The article Family education - the tsformation, present condition and possible threats discusses the historic source of the interest in family. It also presents the current situation of the Polish family which has been seriously affected as a result of political and cultural changes. The author of the article discusses various methods of child-upbringing present in Polish families such as paedocentrism, freedom-based childrearing and liberalism, to mention a few, which were popularised at the time of social changes. The final part of the article is devoted to the difficulties and threats to modem Polish families which are faced with such problems as: an increased rate of divorced marriages, the lack of the parent-child relationship, a decreased role of parental example, an increase in the number of dysfunctional families, alienation, juvenile delinquency, unemployment, and an increase in the number of people living below the poverty line. The uatir of the text states that the research done on family should be not only carried out but also intensified since such alternative forms of family models are being chosen by young generation as the one-parent families or gay and lesbian relationships.
