The Impact of Enterprise 2.0

Reflecting on the topic "Individuals, Society, State in changing Economic Circumstances" there is no way around the developments surrounding the Internet and more precisely, the social media developments of the so-called Web 2.0. The term "Web 2.0" is commonly associated with web applications that facilitate interactive information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design and collaboration on the World Wide Web. Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specifications, but rather to cumulative changes in the way software developers and end users use the Web. In 2006, TIME magazine honored the masses of users who were participating in content creation on social networks, blogs, wikis, and media sharing sites by awarding, "You" as TIME magazine's Person of the Year. The cover story author Lev Grossman explains: "It's a story about community and collaboration on a scale never seen before. It's about the cosmic compendium of knowledge Wikipedia and the million-channel people's network YouTube and the online metropolis MySpace. It's about the many wresting power from the few and helping one another for nothing, and how that will not only change the world, but also change the way the world changes". (fragment of text)
