The study presents CSR initiatives to identify the scale of CSR in Poland and in the world. it describes foreign CSR programmes and initiatives, CSR principles in Poland and examines the attitude of polish financial institutions to the idea of CSR. The article is divided into three substantial parts. the first part discusses the major CSR initiatives in Poland and in the world. the second shows the attitude of polish financial institutions to the idea of CSR, and the third one presents the tools used by financial institutions in Poland. The aim is to present CSR activities and tools to implement them in Poland and in the world, which is to enable the assessment of initiatives undertaken in Poland against the background of those in other countries.
