Abstrakty
Lithuania's territory is not large; however it is famous for its nature, which influences the differences and peculiarities of agriculture and the activities of its rural economy in general. Regional differences in Lithuanian country areas have been less identified as yet and they are under developed in relation to the development of Lithuania's economy. The particularity of the country areas and the narrowness of economical potentials determine that rural development, both in the European Union and in Lithuania, and therefore it has to be stimulated by governmental institutions and other organisations. The main task for the stimulation of rural development is to create favorable economic conditions for rural development and the employment of the population. (fragment of text)
