Abstrakty
Today's Informations and Communication Systems are based on complex information technology, handling information, communication, computing, services and many other real and virtual world resources. Many disciplines have developed their own specialised systems for different purposes. At the same time a lot of features are reinvented, sometimes they even use components comparable or even with identical implementations. Can future systems profit when integrating information from different disciplines? Which aspects are relevant for collaboration, meaning the whole development, use and operation cycle? What issues with collaboration and security arise? Where are the benefits from multidisciplinary systems? This chapter tries to give an overview on various aspects and will show use cases from several disciplines as current state of case studies on multidisciplinary integrated systems being developed, operated, and used by participating disciplines like geosciences, systems research, cartography, education, statistics and many more. It shows that considerations have to span development to strategical level in order to have practical success. The discussion will show interdisciplinary aspects with legal, technical, and operational context, giving an outlook on future focus and developments - in society and science. (fragment of text)
