W I kwartale 1999 roku ogólny wskaźnik koniunktury ma wartość -14.2, niższą o ponad 3 punkty w porównaniu z IV kwartałem 1998 r. W minionych latach wyniki I kwartału były lepsze od IV kwartału. W I kwartale wskaźnik koniunktury jest niższy o 12 punktów niż przed rokiem, niższy o 25 punktów niż przed dwoma laty i niższy o 17 punktów niż przed trzema laty. Jedną z przyczyn takiego stanu rzeczy mogą być bardzo trudne warunki pogodowe, jakie wystąpiły na początku tego roku. Firmy prywatne i publiczne podobnie oceniają koniunkturę w budownictwie. Odpowiednie wartości wskaźnika koniunktury wynoszą: w sektorze prywatnym -14.7 oraz w sektorze publicznym -13.6. (fragment tekstu)
In the 1st quarter of 1999 the general business indicator has a value of -14.2, lower by more than 3 points in comparison with the 4th quarter of 1998. In the previous years the results of the 1st quarter were better than of the 4th one. In the 1st quarter the business indicator is lower by 12 points than a year ago, lower by 25 points than two years ago and lower by 17 points than three years ago. One of the reasons of this situation could be very difficult weather conditions at the beginning of the year. The assessment of the business situation given by the private and public firms is similar. The respective values of business indicator are: -14.7 in the private sector and -13.6 in the public sector.
