W I kwartale 1998 roku wskaźnik koniunktury przyjął wartość -2.5. W porównaniu z IV kwartałem 1997 r. jest wyższy o 7.4 punktu. Relatywnie niska wartość wskaźnika koniunktury w I kwartale jest związana z sezonowością prac w budownictwie. Jednak przed rokiem wskaźnik koniunktury wynosił +11.0, przed dwoma laty +3.4, przed trzema laty +0.2. Firmy sektora prywatnego i publicznego podobnie odczuwają sezonowy spadek koniunktury. Wskaźnik koniunktury w sektorze prywatnym wynosi -2.5, w sektorze publicznym -2.6. (fragment tekstu)

In the 1st quarter of 1998 the general business indicator has a value of -2.5. In comparison with the 4th quarter of 1998 it is higher by 7.4 points. Relatively low value of the business indicator in the 1st quarter is connected with the seasonal character of construction industry. But a year ago the indicator had a value of +11.0, two years ago +3.4, three years ago +0.2 and four years ago -20.5. The seasonal decrease of activity is similar both in the private and public firms. In the private sector the indicator has a value of -2.5, in the public one -2.6. (fragment of text)
