W niniejszym opracowaniu przeanalizowane zostaną tendencje, motywy podejmowania oraz bariery w przepływach inwestycyjnych między UE i Japonią w formie bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych w okresie inwestycyjnego rozwoju BIZ w gospodarce światowej. (fragment tekstu)

The aim of this article is an analysis of foreign direct investment development between the European Union and Japan from 1986 to 2003. One can easily notice that during period under scrutiny there is a huge asymmetry between value of Japanese investment in the European Union and investment of the EU in Japan. The disproportion is a consequence of the existence of many motives for Japanese enterprises to invest in Europe and number of obstacles for Community's investment in Japan. Foreign direct investment flows in both directions are geographically concentrated on several markets, namely: Great Brittan, the Netherlands, France, Germany. In the sectoral breakdown there is an advantage of services investment over industrial investment. Unless Japanese government does not make a real effort to improve conditions for investment, there will not be an improvement in the EU's FDI inflows to Japan. (original abstract)
