Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest zbadanie procesu polaryzacji ekonomicznej w Hiszpanii w latach 1955- 2013. Artykuł składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza część (pkt. 1 i 2) ma charakter metodologiczny. Wyjaśnione są tu różnice pomiędzy miarami polaryzacji a miarami nierówności oraz metodologia wybranych miar polaryzacji, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem miary zaproponowanej przez J. Esteban i D. Ray. W drugiej części (pkt 3) artykułu zbadano polaryzację ekonomiczną pomiędzy autonomicznymi regionami Hiszpanii w latach 1955-2013. Z przeprowadzonych obliczeń wynika, że w Hiszpanii w analizowanym okresie utrzymywała się tendencja do redukcji poziomu polaryzacji ekonomicznej i tym samym poszerzania się klasy średniej. Tendencja ta została zahamowana jednak w wyniku światowego kryzysu zapoczątkowanego w 2007 r. Wówczas poziom polaryzacji ekonomicznej w Hiszpanii zaczął wzrastać. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The aim of this paper is to examine the process of economic polarization in Spain in the years 1955-2013. The paper consists of two parts. The first part (sections 1 and 2) is methodological. It explains the differences between the measures of polarization and inequality, and the methodology of polarization measure, with particular emphasis on measures elaborated by J. Esteban and D. Ray. The second part of the paper (section 3) includes an empirical examination of the economic polarization between the autonomous regions of Spain in the years 1955-2013. The calculations show that there was a trend to reduce the level of economic polarization that meant expanding of middle class. This trend was however stopped by the global crisis, which started in 2007. Then the level of economic polarization in Spain began to grow. (original abstract)
