Abstrakty

W artykule chcemy zająć się tematem muzykoterapii w jej konkretnym oddziaływaniu na ludzi z upośledzeniem umysłowym w stopniu umiarkowanym. W części pierwszej przyjrzymy się jej szczególnej roli w terapii osób z upośledzeniem umysłowym i spróbujemy odpowiedzieć na pytanie, z czego ta szczególna rola wynika. W drugiej części wskażemy kilka praktycznych metod, którymi posługuje się muzykoterapia. Zwrócimy też uwagę na korzyści z tych metod płynące. W części trzeciej przywołamy głosy praktyków, osób, które z pasją realizują założenia muzykoterapii w pracy z upośledzonymi umysłowo. (fragment tekstu)

Music therapy is becoming more and more widely used method while working with people with learning disability. This is due to following music properties: it is an effective tool in establishing non-verbal communication, moreover, it provides pleasure and is the most common form of entertainment amongst people with mental retardation. In the article the author examines the special role music therapy plays in working with people with learning disabilities, presents music therapy methods and gives examples of people (music therapists) who, in their own way, implement music therapy techniques.
