The "New Economy" and Information Technologies as a Factor behind the Changes in the Polish Transportation Industry

The application of information systems in large transportation-forwarding-logistics companies implies individualisation of contacts with service recipients, and automation of the sales of services and distribution of contractors' merchandise, thereby improving the work quality of all participants of logistic chains and speeding up sales cycles. The usual result of such measures is a significant reduction in the costs of market operation and an improvement in competitive position. (fragment of text)
