W kilku krajach europejskich dopuszczono do ruchu w transporcie krajowym pojazdy o długości 25,25 m i ładowności nawet do 60 ton.

For years, the trend to increase the dimensions of road vehicles - both length and load capacity has been observed. In several European countries vehicles with a length of 25.25 mi payload up to 60 tons have been already allowed for national transport. The discussion on the admission of these vehicles for international traffic has already started. There are different opinions on social and market effects of increasing the permissible dimensions. Very often the question of the possible negative impact of the admission of large vehicles on the rail market are being raised. In the article references are made to the views of supporters and opponents of these vehicles. Based on an analysis of various factors, that may have an impact on intermodal shift, a cause - effect relationships model has been developed.(author's abstract)
