Przedstawiono charakterystykę materiałów empirycznych oraz zarys procedury badawczej. Omówiono wyniki badań. Na koniec przedstawiono porównanie wyników badań z rezultatami innych opracowań.

The aim of the article is a presentation of the usefulness of the J. Czekanowski taxonomic method of average differences for the typology of spatial units into which the City of Krakow was divided (38 of the so-called cadastral units) from the point of the detailed structure of land use (106 was the greatest number of determined forms of land use). The typology that has been carried out has enabled the differentiation of regions in the City which have more or less similar structure of land use. These regions are representative for land use in the City of Kraków for December 31st, 1983. In the final part of the article the authors have made a comparison of the obtained results with those of other investigators: K. Bromek and R. Mydel who carried out their investigations for the previous periods (1960 and 1970-1972) and used different methods. (original abstract)
