Abstrakty

Istnieje szereg prac, które przedstawiają warunki życia ludności bądź też poziom rozwoju społeczno-ekonomicznego kraju w różnych układach przestrzennych. Im mniejsze jednostki terytorialnego podziału kraju stosujemy w analizie, tym większe ujawniają się dysproporcje w poziomie życia.

Accessible literature served here as a base for presentation the areas in Poland of high and low rates defining in a synthetic way the level of living conditions. There have been criticized the applied methods of establishing the living standard and selection of indicators from the point of view of territorial differentiation of living conditions, as the conducted analyses do not show the real disproportions of the living standard in territorial arrangement. From the point of social policy, it is also essential what universes live in poverty and if their poverty is a result of objective reasons, or it ensues from their negative life attitudes. Objective and subjective factors differentiating the level of living conditions have been scarcely recognized and rarely included in analyses. The article exemplifies many such factors.
