Celem artykułu jest prezentacja i ocena zmian, jakie miały miejsce w ostatnich latach, w liczebności i strukturze krajowego parku pojazdów wykorzystywanych do przewozu ładunków. Charakter tychże zmian jest uwarunkowany kondycją firm transportowych w Polsce, która z kolei jest zależna od sytuacji gospodarczej zarówno w kraju, jak i na świecie.(fragment tekstu)

Motor Transport Institute (ITS), since the early 90s has been studying the size and structure of the national vehicles fleet, including trucks and semi-trailers tractors, arranged according to makes and age. Periodic character and regularity of the studies makes it possible to obtain valuable material documenting processes, and the observed trends, and thus a complete picture of commercial vehicle market in Poland. Such information is a contribution to the analysis of the situation in this respect and allows to predict changes in the structure of the car fleet in Poland. The available statistics on the fleet of vehicles registered in Poland are confined to the overall figures, while the ITS studies provide more detailed information. Status of the national trucks fleet is characterized by several interesting criteria, such as makes and models of vehicles, age, permissible total weight, engine capacity, the territorial scope of registrations arranged according to the province, or other conditions relevant to the analysis of the automotive sector. The article aims to present and evaluate changes in the size and structure of the national fleet of trucks and semi-trailers tractors that have taken place in recent years. The nature of these changes is subject to the condition of transport companies in Poland, which in turn is dependent on the economic situation, both domestically and internationally.(original abstract)
