This paper presents the results of the analysis of the merits development of logistics platforms able to integrate technological and IT potentials of seaports. The paper contains characteristics of the evolution stages starting from the functional organization of logistics processes leading to the organization in accordance with the logistics platform concept. The success of logistics platforms is the ability to transition from the execution of individual transport tasks to accomplish this task, the entire delivery of the consignment through the use of integrated transport chains. This integration includes various transport modes, therein waterborne and overland. Positive economic results recorded after years of logistics platforms exploatation have initiated work directed to find out effective strategies for different TSL companies integration. The article describes chosen strategies used in seaports. An innovative approach to the organization of logistics platform in Polish sea ports is proposed. Opportunities and threats of the proposed solution were analyzed by the SWOT method. It was found that the construction of logistic platform based on the concept of technological and information potencial integration in seaport has the greatest chance to increase the competitiveness level of their region and country.(author's abstract)
