Celem artykułu jest porównanie w wybranych krajach członkowskich Wspólnoty Europejskiej obciążenia normowego, które może stanowić podstawę do projektowania obiektów mostowych w ciągu transeuropejskiej sieci transportowej. Ponadto celem jest porównanie obciążenia normowego, przyjętego na podstawie zapisów normy europejskiej, z obciążeniem eksploatacyjnym(fragment tekstu)

Bridges are designed in accordance with the load standards. Since April 1 st 2010, the European standard EN 1991-2: 2007 Eurocode 1 can be applied in more than 30 European countries. The models of the characteristics load given in the standard correspond to the international road traffic with a significant involvement of heavy vehicles on major European roads - the transport networks TEN-T. However, at the national level, the standard includes the possibility of accepting the values of coefficients enlarging or reducing the design load. Thus the coefficients established in the European countries have values, that (regarding the frequently applied bridge span length equaled 30 m) the normative load of the first traffic lane will be 18% smaller in France than the recommended European level, but in Germany it will be 13% larger. On the contrary, the load of the second traffic lane be 15% smaller in France, but in Germany it will be 25% larger than the European level. Taking the above into consideration, it seems that the development of the single transport area in Europe is still at an early stage. From a technical point of view it is obvious the equally safe and durable bridges in the European transport area are the ones which been designed for the same load, and then loaded by the same European traffic(author's abstract)
