An Investigation on Business Students' Educational Attitudes

The main aim of the paper was to investigate business students' attitude and its impact over the future profession. At the same time, the study examined the attitude of both, male and female students and employed and unemployed students toward courses, seminars, and methods used for assessment. In order to accomplish this, a quantitative research based on a questionnaire was conducted. The study was addressed to graduate students from eight different master programs from one of the biggest business schools in Romania that enrolls more than 2000 graduate students. The independent t-test proved that there is no difference between male and female students regarding their attitude toward courses or seminars, or between employed and unemployed students regarding their attitude toward seminars or assessment methods. However, it seemed that business students that have a job tend to have a distinct view about courses than those students who do not work. The statistical analyses showed there is a positive association between business students' attitude and the level of their usefulness in their future profession. The findings of such a research could provide decision makers from business schools with valuable insights about the teaching process. (original abstract)
