This issue of the journal presents papers and the transcript of the debate from the conference "Poland and Germany: two approaches to reforming the pension system". In the recent years many countries reformed their pension systems trying to cope with ageing of their populations. In Poland and Germany those reforms followed processes of respectively transformation and unification, which make their comparison particularly interesting. The introduction discusses briefly all the works included in this volume. (original abstract)
