Omówiono podstawowe pojęcia z zakresu statystyki z perspektywy historycznej. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na te pojęcia, które są często mylone lub są niezrozumiałe.

This paper highlights some basic statistical concepts from the perspective of their historical developments. Special emphasis has been put on these notions which are often confused or even misunderstood. The notion of regression is one of typical example. The meaning of this concept is in great detail explained in this paper. (original abstract)
