Abstrakty
Science books are usually addressed to experts in the particular field of knowledge. They can hardly be recommended to a larger group of readers. An exception to this general rule is the work of Professor Grażyna Borys Ecological Risk in Banking Operations. It is a book that should be read not only by a banker or insurance broker but by every entrepreneur and manager, every "guard" of the natural environment, and every design and process engineer. The term risk is generally understood as something that is likely to cause danger . Forty years ago to pass the examination in the subject known as the Elements of Engineering one had to know the way of preventing the risk in the three situations, namely structural strength calculation, the construction of a steam boiler and the construction of a road or railway track turn. Also the contemporary students of engineering are familiar with the problem. (author's abstract)
