Abstrakty

Pojęcie SPIN off jest stosowane szeroko w literaturze naukowej, ale również w biznesie i w innych aspektach życia. Pochodzi z języka angielskiego, a jego podstawowe znaczenie można opisać jako "produkt uboczny", "dodatkowa korzyść, dodatkowy dochód". Innymi słowy, określa się nim pewne korzyści dodatkowe, które powstały w trakcie realizowania zasadniczego nurtu danej pracy czy też głównego projektu. Takie rozumienie zostawia pole do szerokich interpretacji, jak również zastosowania w rożnych obszarach. (fragment tekstu)

The paper deals with the spin off concept. It begins with the outline of spin off firms' significance in a modern economy. Major spin off classifications have been identified, but particular attention concerning the spin off division was given to the type of a parent organization - as a result, two groups of spin offs from business organizations as well as university spin offs have been described. Finally, the recent trends in terminology development with a special emphasis on understanding of spin off and spin out notions have been discussed. (fragment of text)
