Constantly prolonging life expectancy brings us with many new problems related to all domains of life's quality. This article presents the health and quality of life in self assessment of Poles aged 65 and more. The PolSenior study was conducted in Poland between years 2009 and 2010, it included 5695 people out of which 3630 additionally answered WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. The results were analyzed with respect to gender and place of residence. More than half of the respondents (59,6%) assessed the quality of life as good and very good and only 5,5% stated to be very dissatisfied with their life's quality. Males and people living in the urban areas have higher assessed self quality of life. With age people consider their quality of life as good, but also the older the people were the less satisfaction with health's condition there was. Self-assessed (subjective) quality of life and health's condition is not significantly differentiated by the place of residency (urban-rural) and gender. Out of the total, nearly 45% of people were satisfied and very satisfied with their health's condition and as many as 21,2% respondents were dissatisfied. (original abstract)
