The main objective of this paper is to present econometric models used in the practice of employment forecasting. Modelling of the labour market is a complex process, requiring the analysis of relations not only in the labour market, but also in its macroeconomic environment. For this reason, it forces the use of advanced econometric tools. The article briefly discusses construction and estimation of multi equation models, including SUR, VAR and its spatial modifications. In the last part it also presents some empirical examples of models that are used during employment forecasting in chosen European countries. (original abstract)
