Artykuł prezentuje gospodarkę leśną w powiecie kłodzkim, przedstawioną na tle historii regionu oraz w kontekście programów unijnych wspierających zalesienia gruntów rolnych. Powiat kłodzki zlokalizowany jest w Sudetach Środkowych, w mezoregionie Gór Stołowych i Gór Bystrzyckich. Pozytywną cechą powiatu jest wysoki procent zalesienia, który wynosi 42,7%. Należy on do najbardziej zalesionych powiatów w Polsce (wskaźnik dla Polski - 29%). (abstrakt oryginalny)

The paper presents afforestation of post-arable land in Kłodzko Poviat in the light of national strategic plan for rural development. The Kłodzko Poviat is located in the Central Sudety Mountains, in the Stołowe and Bystrzyckie Mountains mezoregion. An advantage of the Kłodzko Poviat is high percentage of forests in the whole area, which is around 42.2%. This located Kłodzko between the most forested areas in Poland (the average for Poland is 28%). The overall area of Kłodzko Poviat is 164,337 ha, out of which 70,474 ha is taken by forests. The afforestation is the main form of managing the poor arable lands. Forest economy is spatially and functionally connected with rural economy. That is why the afforestation will cause, apart from the increase of forest percentage, also and increase of the combined forest and traditional agriculture farms. They should help to decrease the risk of financial trouble when running the farms. The afforestations introduced onto arable lands should be integrated with the introduction of ecological farming. The works by afforestation and then keeping the growing forest in order can be a source of gaining new experiences, and can help to increase the land usage structure and the local environmental conditions. It can be also a source of income of the owner. Furthermore, it will allow: strengthening of the valuable natural areas and structures, counteracting the soil degradation processes, the improvement of the topoclimatic conditions, improvement of the recreational function, the increase in wood production, utilization of the polluted and degraded soils, including those damaged by floods. Data used in the paper was obtain in the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARMA) in Klodzko. (original abstract)
