Abstrakty

Analiza i ocena procesu transformacji ustrojowej krajów Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej stanowi ogromne wyzwanie intelektualne dla przedstawicieli nauk społecznych. Niezwykła złożoność, a zarazem ogromna dynamika i wyjątkowość tego zjawiska utrudnia opracowanie odpowiednich do jego uchwycenia narzędzi badawczych. Obecnie owocną perspektywę otwiera aparat pojęciowy i analityczny stworzony w ramach nowej ekonomii instytucjonalnej, a na tym gruncie szczególnie obiecujące wydaje się ujęcie procesu transformacji przez pryzmat koncepcji path dependence. Celem artykułu jest ocena zasadności posłużenia się wskazaną koncepcją oraz przedstawienie wniosków wynikających z dotychczasowych analiz. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The evaluation and analysis of the transition of Central and East European countries presents a great challenge for economists and other social scientists. Remarkable complexity, multidimensionality, great dynamic and uniqueness of this phenomenon make difficult to form the analytical tools appropriate to handle it. Nowadays one of the most interesting perspective to examine this process is opened by the concept of path dependence. The aim of the article is to present how this concept is used to analyze the transition of Central and East European countries and to assess what are the benefits from such a viewpoint.
