Abstrakty

W 2003 r. Światowa Organizacja Zdrowia zainicjowała projekt mający na celu opracowanie narzędzia służącego do pomiaru i oceny dokonań szpitali w zakresie jakości (model PATH). Opracowane narzędzie może być wykorzystane przez menadżerów szpitali do oceny i ulepszania usług medycznych oraz do zarządzania jakością szpitala. Wypracowany model został oparty na sześciu płaszczyznach pomiaru dokonań: efektywności klinicznej, efektywności ekonomicznej, personelu szpitala, zarządzaniu z uwzględnieniem potrzeb otoczenia, bezpieczeństwie opieki, orientacji na pacjenta. W artykule opisano cel projektu, płaszczyzny dobrane do modelu PATH, a także proces doboru zestawu wskaźników do poszczególnych jego płaszczyzn. (abstrakt oryginalny)

In 2003 The Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization (WHO) launched a project aiming to develop a flexible and comprehensive tool (PATH model) to measure the hospital performance and improve the quality of hospital care. This tool aims at supporting hospitals in assessing their own results, and translating them into actions for quality improvement. The article describes six dimensions, which were identified in this model: clinical effectiveness, safety, patient-oriented attitude, production efficiency, staff orientation and responsive governance. One of the most important tasks during constructing this model was also a selection of the set of performance indicators with detailed definitions for analysis, measurement and assessment of hospital's performances.(original abstract)
