Abstrakty

Chiny mają jedną z najdłuższych historii branży medycznej na świecie. Obecnie w Chinach funkcjonują dwa podsektory usług medycznych - tradycyjnej medycyny chińskiej oraz nowoczesnej opieki zdrowotnej. W 1949 r. Mao Zedong, ówczesny przywódca Chin, zwrócił szczególną uwagę na ogromne potrzeby terenów pozamiejskich w zakresie opieki zdrowotnej. Aby im sprostać, wysyłano z miasta lekarzy na praktyki na tereny wiejskie, a w każdej większej miejscowości uruchamiano stacje szpitalne posiadające od 10 do 30 łóżek dla chorych pacjentów. W latach 50. Chiny zostały odcięte od odstępu do zachodniej cywilizacji i jedynym ich partnerem, także na polu opieki zdrowotnej, pozostała Rosja. Z pomocą Rosjan kształcono lekarzy, otwierano szpitale i potrzebne ośrodki opieki zdrowotnej. Z kolei obserwowany w ostatnich latach wzrost i rozwój usług medycznych w Chinach pokazuje, jak ważnym aspektem jest analiza wpływu rynku usług medycznych na społeczny stan kraju. Zwłaszcza gdy z jednej strony weźmiemy pod uwagę zjawisko starzenia się społeczeństwa chińskiego, a z drugiej - dążenia przywódców w kierunku poprawy dobrobytu. (fragment tekstu)

China has one of the longest history of the health care in the world. In the 50's China was cut off both from the Western civilization and its sole partner - Russia, also in the field of health care. Healthcare sector in China has undergone over the last few years many significant change. This was a result of the development of socialist market economy in China. Since the '80s, the Chinese government began to move away from totally free health care and began implementation of services in part or in full paid by those benefiting from them. This resulted in a shift of huge financial burden on Chinese society. Evidence how big is this burden is fact that the average cost of hospitalization in China is equivalent to 150 % of the annual national average wage. The average cost of a hospital stay in Beijing, the capital city of China, is around 11 500 yuan - this is an equivalent of six-month average salary in this city. Inequalities in access to and in the use of health care services reflect the differences across the country and various financial conditions of individual households. Particularly it also emphasizes the differences in the level of healthcare services between the "rich" - east part of the country (China Coast) and the rest parts. (original abstract)
