Dieudonné M'beki M'beki rozpoczął karierę artysty kabaretowego dwadzieścia kilka lat temu. Początkowo był politycznie związany z radykalną lewicą, co w latach 90. łączyło się z popieraniem walki Palestyńczyków z państwem Izrael. Krytyka syjonizmu w wykonaniu Dieudonné'a coraz bardziej zmierzała jednak w stronę antysemityzmu połączonego z radykalną postawą antysystemową. Działalność ta spotkała się z ostrą krytyką środowisk politycznego mainstreamu i organizacji żydowskich. Otwarcie antysemicka wypowiedź podczas spektaklu "Le mur" pod koniec 2013 r. spotkała się z ostrą reakcją ministra spraw wewnętrznych Francji Manuela Vallsa. Skutkowała ona zakazem przedstawień nałożonym na Dieudonné'a, co z kolei wywołało dyskusję o zakresie wolności słowa. 26 stycznia 2014 r. w Paryżu odbyła się wielka demonstracja wszystkich niezadowolonych z rządów prezydenta Hollande'a. Zwolennicy Dieudonné'a stanowili jej znaczną część. Rząd na razie nie ma się czego obawiać - prawica łączy się na zasadzie wspólnej negacji reform lewicowego prezydenta. Pozostaje jednak problem akceptacji antysemickiej retoryki Dieudonné'a przez znaczną część francuskiej opinii publicznej. (abstrakt oryginalny)

Dieudonné M'beki started his career twenty years ago. As far as politics is concerned, he was associated with the radical left wing, which, in the situation of the 90's, meant being a supportor for the Palestine fight against Israel. With time, Dieudonne's criticism of Zionism has been acquiring the features of anti - Semitism, combined with anti - system attitude. His activity has drawn fierce criticism from the political main stream communities and Jewish organisations. His openly anti - Semitic statement during the "Le mur" performance at the end of 2013 has drawn on the reaction of the French Minister of Internal Affairs, Manuel Valls, who imposed an immediate ban on the performances. This in turn, has led to a discussion about the scope of the freedom of speech. On the 26th of January 2014, a huge demonstration took place in Paris gathering all the people dissatisfied with president Hollande's government. Dieudonne's supporters made up a substantial part of the gathering. For the time being, the government has nothing to be afraid of - the right wing is merging on the basis of common negation of the leftist President's reforms. Yet a problem remains of how Dieudonne's anti - Semitic rhetoric can be accepted by the majority of French public opinion. (original abstract)
