The aim of this work was to evaluate the antioxidant activity and total phenolic content in five commercial exotic fruit extracts available on Polish cosmetics market: sausage tree, banana, date palm, jujube and noni. It was found that EC50 and TEAC values obtained for fruit extracts significantly depend on their phenolics content. This study confirmed that exotic fruit extracts can be used as a promising natural source of antioxidants suitable for application in cosmetic formulations. (original abstract)
Celem pracy było zbadanie aktywności przeciwutleniającej pięciu handlowych kosmetycznych ekstraktów z owoców egzotycznych dostępnych na polskim rynku kosmetycznym: kigelii, bananowca, daktylowca, głożyny i noni. Otrzymane wartości EC50 and TEAC znacząco zależą od zawartości związków polifenowych w badanych ekstraktach. Badanie potwierdziło możliwość zastosowania ekstraktów z owoców egzotycznych w preparatach kosmetycznych jako źródła naturalnych przeciwutleniaczy. (abstrakt oryginalny)
