Cel - Celem badania jest analiza wpływu kryzysu finansowego na siłę efektu mometum na polskim rynku kapitałowym. Metodologia badania - Przeprowadzono symulację wyników 48 portfeli zbudowanych zgodnie ze strategią momentum oraz 48 portfeli złożonych jedynie z długich pozycji, wykorzystując ceny na koniec dnia spółek notowanych na GPW w okresie 2005-2015. Wynik - Efekt momentum uległ wyraźnemu osłabieniu po 2009 roku. Większa część zysków w przypadku strategii momentum generowana jest z utrzymywania pozycji długich na akcjach o najwyższych stopach wzrostu. Oryginalność/wartość - Jest to pierwsze badanie dotyczące efektu momentum na GPW obejmujące okres po kryzysie finansowym. Wnioski z analizy wyników mają praktycznie zastosowanie w podejmowaniu decyzji inwestycyjnych. (abstrakt oryginalny)

Purpose - The purpose of the study is to analyze the impact of financial crisis on the strength of the momentum effect on the Polish capital market. Design/Methodology/approach - Simulating results of 48 portfolios based on momentum strategy and 48 portfolios containing only long positions, using daily close prices of the companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the period from 2005 to 2015. Findings - The momentum effect has weakened noticeably after 2009. The major part of the profits were generated by the long positions in the stocks with the highest growth rates. Originality/value - This is the first study on the momentum effect on the Warsaw Stock Exchange for the period after the financial crisis. Conclusions from the analysis are practically applied in investment decisions. (original abstract)
