Contagion is a form of international crisis propagation. The aim of the article is to prove existence and present basic characteristics of stable paths of contagion, which could be referred to as historical susceptibility to contagion (HSC). The main hypothesis is that such patterns exist and they depend on bilateral trade and financial linkages. The occurrence of the HSC will be tested with correlation analysis of the GDP dynamics in tranquil periods and during crisis. Then the HSC matrix will be compared with data about bilateral trade flows and indebtedness. Second section gives a brief theoretical background on the contagion phenomenon. The third section contains a detailed methodological description of the research. The fourth section presents the HSC matrix. The following two sections refer to bilateral trade and debt relations. The last section concludes(fragment of text)
