Problems of Economic Structure Development of Slovak Economy

Though we could not in this paper deal with all issues that the economy of Slovak Republic struggles with in the period of transformation, we tried in our opinion to concentrate on some key issues whose solution in the future can bring in the field of economy further significantly positive changes. From the above reasons we would like to state that it is inevitable for the economic policy of Slovak Republic to stop to prefer short term goals to long term ones and stop to prefer short term economic growth compared to the solution of institutional problems and restructuring. In the field of structural policy it is necessary to avoid preservation of inherited industrial structure even for the worth of export market changes. In the field of unemployment there should be created sufficient supply of labour forces and pressure for greater flexibility on the labour market. The preference of long term goals to short term ones, continuity of economic policy, stable conception of economic policy that would be not changed in every election period as well as an economic policy of will and realistic goals and related tools together with the realization of association problems can bring about in the economy of Slovak Republic a favourable and stable economic development.
