Space research and exploration has generated some demand for insurance cover that protects against economic losses resulting from destroying (damaging) satellites or losses that are related to third party liability. Space flight related risk refers to destruction or damage of a launch pad, rocket, satellite or any other useful cargo - including machinery breakdown and death or injury of people who are on board or outside a spaceship. Companies that deal with space utilisation rarely do not use insurance protection. There is no a single bank that will provide millions of dollars to finance any venture that will not be subject to at least partial insurance cover. Therefore, it is possible to quote one of brokers who specialise in satellite insurances: Space commercialisation with no insurance is pure fiction. (fragment of text)
