Abstrakty
Rynek medialny Indii należy obecnie do najszybciej rozwijających się. Dynamiczny rozwój gospodarczy "największej demokracji świata" sprzyja wzrostowi wszystkich sektorów mediów. Od momentu liberalizacji gospodarczej na początku lat 90., w Indiach pojawiło się ogromne pole do rozwoju i ekspansji na rynku medialnym - zarówno dla inwestorów rodzimych, jak i międzynarodowych korporacji. Artykuł przedstawia zarys historii rozwoju mediów w Indiach - od pierwszych publikacji prasowych z czasów kolonialnych, po współczesny rynek prasy, telewizji, radiofonii i internetu oraz kwestię poziomu wolności mediów. The Indian media market is one of the fastest growing in the world. The dynamic economic rise of "the biggest democracy in the world" fosters growth in all media sectors. Since the economic liberalization in the early 1990s, the Indian media market has had huge potential for expansion and development - both for Indian investors, as well as international media corporations. The article presents a history of media development in India - from the first newspapers during colonial times to contemporary Indian press, television, radio, Internet and issues connected with freedom of the media.
