Współczesne projektowanie urbanistyczne - potencjalne narzędzie rewitalizacji stref społecznie wykluczonych

Abstrakty
Intencją niniejszego niewielkiego artykułu metodycznego jest zwrócenie uwagi na możliwość wykorzystania projektowania urbanistycznego jako dodatkowego i obiecującego narzędzia w procesach rewitalizacji miejskich stref społecznie wykluczonych oraz zarysowanie problemów metodycznych związanych z podejmowaniem prac badawczych w tym zakresie. Spostrzeżenie to wynika z prostej obserwacji, że nawet niewielkie zmiany charakteru jakiegoś konkretnego miejsca prowadzą często do istotnych zmian w zachowaniu jego użytkowników. A czy tworzenie miejsc (making places) lub przestrzeni dla ludzi nie jest obecnie głównym celem tego planowania? Termin: projektowanie urbanistyczne (urban design) został przyjęty na konferencji, w Wyższej Szkole Projektowania Uniwersytetu Harvard w 1956 r., gdzie uczestnicy, grupa wybitnych urbanistów i architektów, debatowali na temat przyszłości miast (Krieger 2004). Projektowanie to w późnych latach 50. i wczesnych 60. skoncentrowało się głównie na fizycznej formie kształtowania osiedli i działalności mieszczącej się pomiędzy planowaniem miast i osiedli a projektowaniem architektonicznym.
