This article looks into the issue of modelling the decoupling point in the supply chain taking into account its ecological aspects. In the new approach the SCOR model is expanded by the elements describing the decoupling point and the reverse chain. The idea behind the research conducted at the first stage was to identify the description of the decoupling point in the supply chain model. At the second stage the decoupling point description was analyzed in terms of its complexity and supply chain configuration was modified in terms of its structure. Each stage involved a two- -dimensional analysis of both the traditional (forward) material flow pipeline - from the manufacturer to the end customer - and the backward material flow pipeline. A comprehensive description must be provided as the need for changes in the supply chain structure and in the chain logic is getting more and more pressing. Obtained results are put to use in common management practice. They facilitate the reconfiguration of the supply chain(original abstract)
