Abstrakty

Na całym świecie od XIX wieku obserwuje się tendencję do skracania czasu pracy. Obniżenie liczby przepracowanych godzin do 35 tygodniowo, do którego doszło we Francji w latach 1999-2002, było jednak ewenementem. Reforma ta została wprowadzona na kilku etapach. Pozwoliła stworzyć 350 000 miejsc pracy w perspektywie krótkookresowej i zwiększyła wydajność pracowników. Jednak wiązała się także ona z podwyższeniem kosztów pracy i trudnościami dotyczącymi przedsiębiorstw. W rezultacie doprowadziła do pogorszenia koniunktury gospodarczej i do podwyższenia stopy bezrobocia w perspektywie długoterminowej. (abstrakt oryginalny)

A tendency to shorten the working time has been observed all over the world since the 19th century. However, the reduction to 35 hours worked weekly, resulting from a reform implemented in France in the years 1999-2002, was an unprecedented event. The reform was introduced in several stages. In the short term, it enabled the creation of 350,000 workplaces and increased the productivity of workers. Nevertheless, it also led to higher labour costs and to a number of difficulties for enterprises. As a result, the economic situation of the country deteriorated and the unemployment rate increased in the long term. (original abstract)
