W opracowaniu przedstawiono wyniki wybranych badań empirycznych dotyczących popularnych wśród instytucji szkolnictwa wyższego strategii i procesów związanych z izomorfizmem. Poza mimetyzmem czyli imitowaniem organizacji odnoszących największe sukcesy inne źródła izomorfizmu to regulacje przez państwo, będące źródłem izomorfizmu wymuszonego oraz rozmaite źródła izomorfizmu normatywnego. Badania empiryczne wskazują, że także rynek może być źródłem i stymulatorem strategii imitacji stosowanych przez uczelnie. Dodatkowe procesy wpływające na rosnące podobieństwo między instytucjami to prowadzenie rozmaitych porównań i rywalizacji. Wybór organizacji z którymi dana uczelnia się porównuje i rywalizuje, bierze pod uwagę nie tylko podobieństwo strukturalne, ale także cechy związane z tożsamością organizacji takie jak reputacja, wizerunek organizacji i tożsamość (profil uczelni czyjej misja). Najbardziej widoczne przykłady takich porównań i rywalizacji to rankingi uczelni które w konsekwencji prowadzą do instytucjonalnych strategii imitacji. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The paper presents results of selected empirical studies concerning the popular strategies and processes in higher education institutions resulting from isomorphizm. Besides imitating the most successful organizations (mimetism) the government regulation and normative sources cause coercive and normative isomorphism. According to empirical research results also market may stimulate imitating strategies among institutions. The other source of increasing similarity of strategies is emulation of universities. The examples of such additional processes influencing institutional similarities are various rankings. Choices of emulation targets are not connected to the most structurally similar institutions but also to identity related attributes like reputation, organizational image and identity (profile, mission). These the most visible examples of such emulation, namely university rankings shape institutional imitation strategies. (original abstract)
