Zarządzanie wiedzą i informacją w procesach logistycznych uzależnione jest od jakości gromadzonych informacji, ich przetwarzania i przechowywania. We współczesnej zglobalizowanej gospodarce opartej na wiedzy skuteczne zarządzanie wiedzą i informacją stanowi zasadniczy element usprawnienia procesów logistycznych. Efektywne wykorzystanie wiedzy i informacji w procesach logistycznych umożliwia ich optymalizację oraz buduje przewagę konkurencyjną przedsiębiorstwa. Ponieważ istotę procesów logistycznych stanowi przepływ materiałów i towarzyszący mu przepływ informacji i wiedzy, stąd skuteczne zarządzanie przedsiębiorstwem wymaga sprawnego systemu zarządzania zasobami nie tylko materialnymi, ale także informacyjnymi.(abstrakt oryginalny)

Management of knowledge and information in logistic processes depends on the quality of gathered information, its processing and storage. In today's globalised knowledge-based economy effective management of knowledge and information is a fundamental element of the improvement of logistic processes. Effective use of knowledge and information in logistic processes enables optimisation of such processes and builds competitive advantage of an enterprise. As logistic processes are about a flow of materials and an accompanying flow of information and knowledge, effective management of an enterprise requires an efficient system for managing resources, not only material ones but also information resources.(original abstract)
