Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w Polsce, Wielkiej Brytanii, Grecji i Włoszech, przez międzynarodowe konsorcjum badawcze, w ramach projektu PRESS - Promoting Environmentally Sustainable SMEs (http://www.pressproject.eu/).

Due to international scope of the research, theoretical aspects, included in the paper, cover international literature on sustainability and one of the means to implement it - green practices. The article concludes, that environmental aspects are important for the companies form all countries participating in the project. Therefore it is also a proof for the fact that the challenge of shaping sustainable supply chains is at present critical for all companies. (original abstract)
